Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: June 26, 2026
StreetVenture is a game about exploring real places with real effort, shared with a community of other explorers. This Acceptable Use Policy (the “Policy”) explains what we expect from you and what we do not allow. It applies to everything you do on the Services — the activities you record, the routes and photos you share, your profile, and how you treat other people.
This Policy is part of, and incorporated into, our Terms of Service. The terms we capitalize here (“Services”, “content”) have the meanings given there. If you break these rules, we may remove content, limit features, or suspend or permanently ban your account, as described in §10 (Reporting and Enforcement) below.
In short: be honest about your activities, respect other people, and keep everyone — including yourself — safe.
1. Authentic Activities
StreetVenture rewards real movement through real streets. Coverage, XP, levels, streaks, quests, expeditions, and leaderboards only mean something if everyone earns them honestly. You agree not to:
- Post activities you did not actually walk, run, or cycle yourself.
- Fake, spoof, simulate, or otherwise manipulate your GPS location or activity data (for example, using a location-spoofing tool, editing a track to claim streets you didn’t cover, or recording while in a vehicle and passing it off as a walk or ride).
- Import activity files that you did not personally earn, or that you have altered to misrepresent what happened.
- Manipulate coverage, XP, leaderboards, streaks, or any other game mechanic through automation, exploits, or coordinated cheating.
- Operate multiple accounts to gain an unfair advantage. One person, one account.
We may remove activities and adjust or reset progress that we reasonably believe is inauthentic.
2. Respect Other People
The community works because people are decent to one another. You agree not to:
- Harass, bully, threaten, intimidate, or defame anyone.
- Impersonate another person, or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or organization.
- Post content that attacks or demeans people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or other protected characteristics.
- Encourage others to do any of the above.
Disagreement is fine. Cruelty, targeted abuse, and hate are not.
3. Location and Personal Safety
StreetVenture is built around where you go, so location-related abuse is something we take especially seriously. You agree not to:
- Reveal another person’s home, workplace, school, or real-time whereabouts without their clear consent (“doxxing”).
- Use anyone’s routes, activity history, or shared location to follow, stalk, surveil, ambush, or threaten them.
- Pressure or trick other users into revealing private location information.
Protect yourself, too: use the app’s privacy controls to keep sensitive activities private, and be thoughtful about routes that start or end at your home. See our Privacy Policy for the controls available to you.
4. Child Safety
We have zero tolerance for content or conduct that sexualizes, endangers, or exploits children. This includes child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, sexualization of minors, and any attempt to contact or solicit a minor for harmful purposes.
We remove this content immediately, permanently ban the accounts involved, and report it to the relevant authorities and child-safety organizations (such as NCMEC) as required by law. StreetVenture is not intended for anyone under 16 — see Terms §1 (Eligibility).
5. Dangerous, Violent, and Harmful Content
You agree not to post, share, or promote:
- Threats of violence, incitement to violence, or content that praises or supports terrorism or violent extremism.
- Graphic violence or cruelty intended to shock or disgust.
- Content that promotes or encourages suicide, self-harm, or disordered eating. (If you are struggling, please reach out to a local crisis line — we want you safe, not gone.)
- Instructions for seriously harmful activity.
6. Illegal, Explicit, and Restricted Content
You agree not to use the Services to:
- Post pornographic or sexually explicit content, or any non-consensual intimate imagery.
- Buy, sell, or advertise illegal drugs, weapons, or other goods and services whose sale is restricted by law.
- Do anything that violates a law that applies to you.
Remember that activities, photos, and comments may be visible to other users — keep what you share appropriate for a general audience.
7. Privacy and Intellectual Property of Others
- Don’t post other people’s private or personal information without permission.
- Don’t upload content you don’t have the rights to — photos, text, or anything else that infringes someone’s copyright, trademark, or other rights.
- Don’t misuse the StreetVenture name, logo, or branding.
If you believe content on the Services infringes your intellectual property, contact us at the address in §11 below.
8. Platform Integrity and Security
To keep the Services safe and available for everyone, you agree not to:
- Access, or try to access, another user’s account or data without authorization.
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems, or breach any security or authentication measure.
- Scrape, harvest, or build derivative datasets from the Services beyond what the law expressly permits.
- Use bots, scripts, or other automated means to interact with the Services in ways we haven’t authorized, or to generate mass-write or denial-of-service traffic.
- Upload malware, or otherwise interfere with the operation of the Services.
Responsible security research is welcome — if you find a vulnerability, please report it privately to us rather than exploiting it.
9. Spam and Inauthentic Behavior
Don’t use the Services to spam, phish, run scams, post deceptive or misleading content, or engage in coordinated inauthentic behavior. Don’t artificially inflate engagement (follows, reactions, comments) through fake accounts or automation.
10. Reporting and Enforcement
If you see something that breaks these rules, report it. You can report content directly in the app using the report option on an activity, comment, or profile, or email us at support@streetventure.app. You can also block another user from your own account at any time.
When we become aware of a violation, we may — at our discretion and proportionate to the harm — do any of the following:
- Remove or hide the offending content.
- Issue a warning.
- Limit access to certain features.
- Adjust or reset game progress earned in violation of §1 (Authentic Activities).
- Suspend or permanently ban the account.
- Preserve information and notify law enforcement where the law requires it or where there is a risk of serious harm.
The most serious violations — especially those involving child safety, credible threats, or imminent danger — can result in an immediate permanent ban without prior warning.
Appeals. If you believe we got it wrong, reply to the enforcement notice or email support@streetventure.app and we will review it.
11. Changes and Contact
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above and, where significant, announced in the app. Continued use of the Services after a change means you accept the updated Policy.
